Ineractive TV
Today, especially after ‘Avatar’ the populatity of interactive TV has increased dramatically, that’s fact. Today there are many digital TV channels offering interactive services that you can use just by pressing certain button on your remote control. Do you know that early, when television was first invented and released to the public, watching programming on it was an event. Often, neighbors would visit just to watch whatever was being shown on the box in the living room and, you cant believe, I remember this times:-)Also there were special antennas which get the signal and if you loose tv servise you had to get up on the roof to turn the antenna to the right way-)
Now, if you suddenly lose interactive services, all what you need is to try resetting your set-top box or digital TV. With satellite TV, you need Freesat or a Sky set-top box to be able to use red button interactive services.
For instance on Freeview, BBC Red Button has slightly fewer interactive features because Freeview has less bandwidth available. For example:
There are not so many news screens to choose from.
You can’t contact the BBC via Freeview (but we always offer other ways, such as text messaging, email or phone).
You can’t get subtitles on a BBC Red Button channel.
